Last year’s winners

The winners of the 5th CRNS Annual Awards were announced at a rather glam drinks reception and awards dinner at the Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor on 16th March 2010.

Hebrides Alpha Trading scooped the Member of the Year award (sponsored by the Co-operative Group) for its work providing a diverse range of services to its local community, fostering successful partnerships where necessary and demonstrating entrepreneurial thinking in its approach to business development. The runners-up were Recycle Fife and Gorbals Recycles.

Lorn and Oban Reuse Initiative won the Innovation Award (sponsored by Novelis) for its unique working partnership with Argyll and Bute Council in setting up a reuse shop on a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). The organisation pipped runners-up Bookdonors and the Dumbarton Road Corridor Environment Trust.

Finally, Argyll and Bute Council won the Local Authority Partnership Award (sponsored by Yell) for its work with Lorn and Oban Reuse Initiative (see above). Clackmannanshire and City of Edinburgh Councils were the runners-up for the award.

It goes without saying that all the shortlisted organisations do great work worthy of many awards. It’s great to give recognition to a few that highlights the work being done by many. Congratulations to all the winners.
